Uganda FTO – Bokonzo Joint Cooperative: A Coffee with a Mission
Venture into the heart of southwestern Uganda, where the Bukonzo Organic Farmers Co-operative Union is empowering farmers and transforming the coffee landscape. Since 2009, this remarkable organization has been dedicated to improving the livelihoods of local coffee producers by enhancing the quality and value of their harvests.
Traditionally, this region was known for lower-grade, home-processed coffees. However, Bukonzo recognized the immense potential of the area’s fertile lands and ideal growing conditions. They invested in 36 micro-washing stations, bringing the art of washed processing to the heart of these communities. This innovation has not only elevated the quality of the coffee but has also empowered farmers to earn higher premiums for their beans, creating a sustainable industry that uplifts families and strengthens the local economy.
Our Uganda FTO – Bokonzo Joint Cooperative is a testament to this transformative journey. Roasted to a medium profile, this coffee entices with a captivating array of flavors.
